Saddle up for the Calgary Stampede! For 10 days every July, the city's Western hospitality soars as the event branded the "Greatest Outdoor Show On Earth" kicks off. Feel the excitement as world's best rodeo champions go head-to-head, and teams of horses compete in chuckwagon races. See Western shows, whirring fairgrounds, music festivals, nightly fireworks, agricultural activities, and First Nations dancers compete in native dance competitions. Note: it is highly likely you will not come away from the event without purchasing yourself a cowboy hat. Yeehaw!

Want to get your Olympic spirit on? The Canada Olympic Park, located just outside Calgary, was the premier site of the 1988 Winter Olympics. It now provides year-round fun for families and folk of all ages. You can have a bobsled experience or try the Skyline Luge - the longest luge run in the world. You can zipline from the former ski jump tower, or get out hiking and biking. There is something for every season.
