JASPER SKI RESORT, CANADA
Why Jasper is Canada’s ski resort jewel
Jasper is the scrumptious icing (snow) on the cake after travelling through one of the most spectacular scenic drives on the planet – Icefields Parkway. It really is a pretty special place.
This ski resort is known for its beautiful natural wonders and classically humble Canadian charm.
The slopes themselves are in Marmot Basin, within the breathtaking Jasper National Park. The area is loved because of its brilliant services, all-round affordability and of course, the remarkable Rocky Mountain landscape. You really can’t go wrong!
Jasper ski runs
You’ll find the slopes in Marmot Basin, famous for its incredible views, family-friendly, laid-back vibe and array of runs to suit all levels of expertise.
Marmot Basin covers 1,675 acres – hosting 86 runs, and lays claim to being the highest base elevation of all Canadian ski areas. It really is nothing like you’d find on the south side of the globe.
Boasting state-of-the-art chairlifts, the Canadian Rockies Express is the longest high-speed quad chair in the Canadian Rockies. The Paradise chair takes skiers and boarders up a vertical rise of 410 metres in under five minutes. Sounds like less time travelling, more time having fun to me.
Jasper restaurants and nightlife
The vibing little town of Jasper is home to lots of great shops and restaurants. The food here is best described as creative Rocky Mountain cuisine at it’s finest, so dig in!
If you’re into après ski – who isn’t – then you’ll be glad to know Jasper has it’s own national park brewery. Head out in the evening to enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and proud joy the relaxed community takes in this Canadian gem.
Why would I want to ski in Jasper?
The main appeal here is that, some days, you’ll feel as though these open powder slopes were made just for you. Marmot Basin is known to be one of the most peaceful ski areas in the world – a luxury which is warmly welcomed!
Getting to the slopes in Jasper
